Dr. Thomas Nally

Dr. Thomas Nally (BSc, MSc, PhD) is a Chartered and Registered Forensic Psychologist. He is an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society, and is a registered practitioner with the Health and Care Professions Council. He has also completed a PhD in the area of Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) victimology.

Before joining CCATS, Dr Nally has worked in secure services, providing assessment and treatment for difficulties associated with Aggression and Sexual Violence. He was also part of a research team and has published numerous journal articles.

At CCATS, Dr Nally provides psychological therapy for clients for a range of difficulties general aggression and harmful sexual behaviour. He provides therapy across different settings, such as in residential placements, based in Poulton Le Fylde and remotely. He also provides trauma therapy for individuals that experience difficulties following distressing experiences and is a trained EMDR therapist. Dr Nally is trained in a variety of assessment tools, including HCR-20, SVR-20, SAPROF, J-SOAP II risk assessment tools, and clinical assessments such as the IPDE, PCL-R, SCID, WAIS IV and the ACIA. He regularly completes psychological assessments, risk assessments and cognitive assessments for individuals across the lifespan, both commissioned by local authorities and the Court. He is also trained and regularly provides therapy that includes Dialectic Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Life Minus Violence-Enhanced (LMV-E) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
