Christa-Maria Abi Semaan

Christa-Maria Abi Semaan (BA (Hons) in Psychology with a minor in Criminology, MSc in Forensic Psychology) is an Assistant Psychologist at CCATS and a member of the British Psychological Society (BPS).

In her role at CCATS, she is responsible for providing psychological assessments, formulations and interventions for young people and adults who may present with various difficulties, including aggression, trauma, sexually harmful behaviour, self-injurious behaviour, and substance and alcohol use. Additionally, she offers appropriate psychologically based, trauma-informed advice, guidance and consultation to support staff working with young people in residential care.

Christa-Maria is trained in a range of assessment tools, including those for personality disorders, psychopathy, and the evaluation of risk and protective factors, such as the HCR-20 (version 3), SVR-20 (version 2), and SAPROF. She is also trained in the Life Minus Violence-Enhanced (LMV-E) Therapy® Training, incorporating the Harmful Sexual Behaviour (HSB) version. She has prior experience working with adults with mental health and personality difficulties in a high secure hospital. Her background includes conducting risk assessments, developing risk formulations, and delivering intervention work.
