Coral McCormick (BSc (Hons), MSc), is a Forensic Psychologist in Training at CCATS. She is a Graduate Member of the British Psychological Society and the Division of Forensic Psychology. Her role within CCATS is to carry out psychological assessments and interventions with clients presenting various needs, under the supervision of Chartered Psychologists.
Coral’s role also includes providing clinical consultation to external companies, which includes individual and group reflection on an individual’s presenting needs and promoting therapeutic work where needed. This can also include staff reflective practice and training, alongside the reviewing of any relevant documentation relating to the young people, such as referrals, risk assessments or behaviour management plans.
Coral has been trained in a number of risk and protective assessment tools such as the HCR-20, SVR-20, SARA, J-SOAP and WAIS-IV, and has experience carrying out psychological assessments. Coral also has four years of prior experience working with individuals presenting with a number of different specific needs, such as trauma, attachment difficulties, Self-Injury, Intimate Partner Violence, aggression, and childhood sexual exploitation within residential parenting assessment units.
