Daniel Gerken

Daniel Gerken (BSc (Hons), MSc (Hons), is an Assistant Psychologist at CCATS and a member of the British Psychological Society. His role within CCATS is to provide support in carrying out psychological assessments and therapies with clients who present specific needs relating to their psychological wellbeing and behavioural functioning, for example traumatic experiences, Harmful Sexual Behaviour (HSB), aggression and attachment difficulties. This is done under the supervision of a colleague.

Daniel’s role also includes providing clinical consultation to external companies, which includes individual and group reflection on an individual’s presenting needs and promoting therapeutic work with the young people if requested. This can also include staff reflective practice and training, alongside the reviewing of any relevant documentation relating to the young people, such as risk assessments or behaviour management plans.

Daniel has been trained in a number of risk factor assessment tools such as the HCR-20, SVR-20, and JSOAP and SAVRY, and has experience in carrying out psychological assessments. In previous roles, Daniel has worked in mental health services which have focused on the recovery of both young adults and adults in their mental health journeys.
