Laura Smith

Laura Smith (BA Hons in counselling and psychotherapy, MBACP) is a psychological therapist at CCATS. She is a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

Laura provides counselling and psychotherapy for children, young people, and adults. She supports clients facing a wide range of challenges including anxiety, depression, self-harm, sexual abuse, domestic abuse, and bereavement. As an integrative therapist, Laura works from a person-centred foundation and draws upon a variety of therapeutic approaches including, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), creative therapy, solution-focused therapy, and transactional analysis, allowing her to tailor therapy to suit clients individual needs. Her role also includes delivering psychoeducational work under the supervision of registered Forensic Psychologists. Laura’s previous experience includes working in residential children’s homes and working with neurodiversity.

Outside of her role at CCATS, Laura works as a school counsellor on the Fylde coast.
