Laura Smith BA (Hons), MBACP is a psychological therapist at CCATS. She is a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
Her role involves counselling and psychotherapy with young people and adults who present with a diverse range of issues including anxiety, depression, self-harm, sexual abuse, domestic abuse, and bereavement. Laura is an integrative therapist who uses her training in person-centred therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), creative therapy and transactional analysis to fit her client’s needs. Laura’s role also includes counselling assessments and delivering psychoeducational work under the supervision of registered Forensic Psychologists and she has experience working in residential children’s homes and working with neurodivergence.
In addition to her work at CCATS, Laura is currently undertaking a Level 2 accreditation (APT) in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy.
