The team is led by CEO Stephen Booth (MA, PGDip, (NHS Tavi) PGCert, BEd, HND) who founded CCATS in 2001. A BACP accredited psychotherapist, Stephen has more than 20 years’ experience of working in a therapeutic capacity with children, young people and adults.
During his career he has worked in many different settings including schools, residential children’s homes, semi-secure and secure children’s units and HM Prison Service.
As a therapist and supervisor, he has worked with a range of emotional, behavioural and mental health problems and was clinical lead for the CCATS’ team responsible for providing tier 3 CAMH services for Blackpool and North Lancashire PCTs. He is particularly experienced in working with looked after children and clients who have experienced childhood abuse.
At the head of CCATS since its inception, Stephen has driven the organisation’s growth from a grant funded project to a successful limited company providing services for the NHS and Local Authorities nationwide. In addition to his responsibilities as a director, he is CCATS’ designated child protection officer and continues to carry a small therapeutic and supervisory caseload.
